Teal Tuesdays...Teal with an Accent

After wearing Zoya Wednesday from the Beach Collection I loved it so much that I didn't want to take it off .  It's perfect today for Teal Tuesdays.  Facebooks challenge "Accent Nails".  I wanted to keep the look simple yet elegant so I choose to add a vintage pattern to my ring and thumb fingers.

OPI DS Original

I thought it was time for me to start wearing my holos, so today I'm wearing OPI DS Original.  OPI describes it as a gorgeous glistening plum. I agree, a gorgeous light purple which reflects every color of the rainbow and it reflects light in an explosion of brilliance.  It's sheer but not hard to apply, I had no dragging issues applied two coats over Makeup Stores Aqua Base.  I didn't apply any topcoat. It wore really well for me without any chipping.

 

You can find DS Original on ebay but it's abit pricey or you may be able to hunt it down while on a dusty shopping trip.

Teal Tuesdays...Marine Blue and Splatter Nails

I'm late and I'm running to hurry and post before it 's Wednesday.  I'm having a hard time looking for a teal lacquer, okay I found one.  Clarie's Marine Blue.  This is the most gorgeous Teal it's a mid-tone blue based teal that dries matte.  I applied 3 coats then  Poshe' topcoat nice and shiny.

Photos are not the correct coloring it's more teal...sorry camera would not act right.

Teal Tuesdays Facebook Challenge:  Splatter Nails

I made the attempt to try splatter nails using the blow in the straw method, but it did not work for me.  So, I had to start over Lol! will try again another time.  I pulled out my trusty Konad Stamping plate M21 much, much easier! 

The egg yolk looking splatter color is Konad special polish Gold Brown. It didn't stamp opaque enough against the teal and it doesn't look the same as in the bottle an orange/brown shade.  I then stamped it again with Finger Paints Cordur-Orange much better.

My middle finger and thumb also painted with FP Cordur-Orange and stamped with Claries Marine Blue along with Konad special polish in Black and White.

Overall I'm pleased the way it turned out.  Have you tried splatter nails?  What method do you use?

Blue Monday with a Bug

Do you remember Fashion Bug ladies clothing store?  Well I remember this store from way back but not in my area anymore there is one 50 miles away.  The clothes were reasonable and fashionable.  At the time when I shopped there I didn't know they had nail polish.  I found a couple of them out on Ebay and I thought they were pretty enough to purchase and the price was right.  Today I have Dark Denim nice name, but it really doesn't look like a pair of dark denim jeans to me.  Still like the color though, it's a dark royal blue creme.  It applied like a dream with 2 easy coats.

I just couldn't leave it alone so I then layered on one hefty coat of an old Covergirl IceSlicks, Pink Rose Glace Rose. A yellow tinted jelly base with multi-colored teeny tiny glitters in blue, orange, pink and gold. It glimmers and shines.

Lucid with an Overcoat

Hi Beautiful People,

The other day while in Walgreen's I spied another Sally Hansen collection that consist of Basecoats  and Jewel  Overcoats.  I only picked up White Veil  Jewel Overcoat because it was interesting to me.  It's packed full of small white and mid-size gold glitters.  For some reason I think of Quaker Grits when I look at it from the bottle. Lol! It definitely caught my eye when I saw the display.

First, I put on 2 coats of Sparitual Lucid from the Water Collection.  It's a very pretty light lilac creme so smooth! Then I layered it with 1 coat of White Veil.

Here on my nails the small white glitter looks clear, but they are white as you see in the bottle. 

If you are a glitter fan I suggest you hurry and pick up White Veil! The others didn't interest me and besides they look like dupes of glitters that I already have.

Teal Tuesdays...Jagged Edge

Hello Everyone,

Teal Tuesdays is brought to you by NYC Mint Macaroon.  It's a new one from NYC.  I picked this up at CVS the other day along with another one.  I'll talk about that one another time. Mint Macaroon  is a light creme teal with a green undertone, it took 3 coats to level out nicely.  It makes me think about China Glazes For Audrey.   Sometimes I wish I can say "Come on over and take a look at my nails".  They look so much better then these pictures.  For real!

Teal Tuesdays Facebook Challenge:  Tape Manicure.  I decided to do a jagged edge by just simply clipping the edge of some scotch tape.  I got alittle frustrated because I had some trouble along the way.   Please don't throw darts Lol!

I used my smallest dotting tool to add on the white dots using SH Insta-dri Whirlwind White.  The red is Revlon Fire.

Pink Wednesday...CND Pink Wishes Collection

I've had my CND Pink Wishes Collection for awhile now so I thought it was a good time to try this set today.   Pink Wishes a light pale pink creme.  It's very subtle but you can look at it and know it's pink.  It was tricky to apply.  I had to add 4 coats to cover all bald spots.  Geez!

This is my dominant hand (Left) My polishing skills are not too good

Then I applied 2 coats of Pink Wishes Pearl its for layering like the other CND Effects.  Can't wait to see what it looks like over Black.

Here I used IP BM-244 with Konad Special Polish in Psyche Pink
