Blue Monday, Loreal Notting Hill Blues

Hi Everyone,

It's Blue Monday and I have on a beauty from the Loreal Ltd. London Fall Collection.  I picked up Notting Hill Blues.  It's a gorgeous medium blue with shimmer.  It's very saturated only needing 2 coats.

The 1999 British romantic comedy movie Notting Hill, starring Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts still encourages visitors to the Notting Hill area every week looking for the now famous locations around  Portobello Road Market.

Did you pick up Notting Hill Blues or any others in this collection?

P.S.  Those of you that have Captcha on your blogs for some reason I'm not able to comment.  It won't take anything that I type in even though it's correct.  I emailed them about it, hopefully it's corrected soon.

Until next time please have a great nail polish day. (✿◠‿◠)

Teal Tuesdays...Challenge Half Moon

Today is Teal Tuesdays and the challenge: Half Moon

I was excited to take on this challenge because I done it once and was very pleased with the look.  The first time I took on the challenge I used reinforcements  to tape off for the moon design.  Lo and behold I couldn't find them.  So, I tried to freehand the moon...bad decision it looked like a first grader took on the challenge. Lol!  I grabbed my Nailene french tip guides, they did okay but it didn't give the round curve shape I was looking for.

After applying my base coat I polished on 2 coats of L'oreal Now You See Me.  It's a pretty greyed teal creme and sorta jelly like.  This polish is thin, I had some dragging problems with it.  Next time I'll make sure I let the first coat dry thoroughly.

I applied a coat of Seche Vite so the first polish can dry faster.  I waited about 10 mins. and applied the french tip guides carefully.  I layered a coat of Wet n' Wild  On a Trip.  I am in love with this purple shade.  I think it's gorgeous!  The bottle brush is hugh I mean so hugh it looks like a snow shovel.  I immediately removed the french tip guides and viola! I'm not crazy about the moon shape here but I'm loving the color combo! Whoo Who!

I almost put a layer of Sally Hansen Diamond Strength, Glass Slipper (white flakies) over the top but decided to leave it as is.

Have you tried a half moon design?   Thoughts?

Basketball and Nail Polish: 30 Day NBA Challenge Day 7 *GRIZZLIES*

Today's challenge: Memphis Grizzlies
Team colors: Gold, Light Blue, Navy, White

A blue bear claw holding a yellow basketball

Hi Guys,

Sorry for not keeping up to date with this challenge.  I'm still fighting a bad cold that I can't seem to get rid of.  I'm feeling somewhat in the mood to do a mani for you today.  I'm actually having fun coming up with ideas as I move along.  Hope you like it *-*

Revlon Colorstay, Slate Blue...it's cremey and covered well with one coat. Can you see Blue Slate peeking through the stripes?

Loreal, Amazon's Flash...metallic gold shimmer that needed three coats

For the stripes I used a stripping brush with FolkArt Acrylic Paints, Medium Blue and Navy Blue. Stamped with Konad White Special Polish and Sally Hansen Nail Color Pen, Gold Chrome. Plates used Shany SH08 (gold paws) and DRK-A (white paws)

History

The Memphis Grizzlies are a professional basketball team based in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. The team is part of the Southwest Division of the Western Conference in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Along with the Toronto Raptors, the Grizzlies were established in 1995 as part of the NBA's expansion into Canada. The team originated that year in Vancouver, British Columbia and relocated to Memphis in 2001. The team's majority owner is Michael Heisley, who controls a 95% share of the franchise; the remaining 5% is controlled by several local owners, including AutoZone founder J. R. ("Pitt") Hyde, his wife Barbara Hyde, equity manager Staley Cates, and former NBA player and University of Memphis point guard Elliot Perry.[1]
While two other teams in Tennessee (Tennessee Titans and Nashville Predators) in the five major North American sports leagues (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, MLS) play in Nashville, the Grizzlies are the only team currently to play in Memphis

Funky French and Decorative Scissors

Good Morning,

Believe it or not I wore Blue Monday's mani up to now. I did not add any nailart to my My dominate hand like I did my right hand.  Yes, I  went to work looking like this. Lol!  After seeing Erika's mani from Chloe's Nails she is so great with her tape method.  Well, she did a mani using decorative scissors.  After work yesterday I went to Michaels and bought a bucket of these decorative/craft scissors.  Yes, they had a bucket of 12 for $9.99.  The one I used (victorian) came as a single pair was not included in the bucket. The name of the design is on each one and each pair is a different color.  Really cute.

Please don't laugh the design is alittle distorted I definately need more practice.  Ha Ha :/

Loreal Ocean Breeze,  Victorian Scissors, Orly Matte Vinyl (Matte Couture Collection 2009)

See my funky french my ring, and pinky fingers were a little stubborn.

I was thinking about taking the scissors back to the store because I had a hard time cutting the tape.  If the tape was thicker it would cut so much better.  I finally got the hang of it though.  Added a shiny topcoat (Revlon Colorstay) because I didn't like the matte look on my tips.

Tip:  Through my research overtime these will get dull after repeated use, but they can be sharpened by cutting through tin foil.

So what do you think?  Will you try using these scissors for your mani designs?

Erika, thanks for another way for designing our mani's! Whoo Hoo

Blue Monday, Ocean Breeze with Nailart

Blue Monday by Annie Lee

Good Morning Nail Beautiquers,  I hope you had a lovely weekend.  Last night I was trying to decide on what to put on as far as polish.  I roamed around in one of my drawers and pulled out Loreal Ocean Breeze from the LE Passport to Paradise Summer Collection 2010.  It's a lovely deep sky blue.  I thought it was a creme.  It's a jelly!  I get so excited when I get a jelly.  It surely is one of my favorite finish.

3 coats were used

Trying to be alittle creative with some nailart.  These are the goodies I used:

Sunny Yellow,  Silver Glitter, White, Silver, Blue Moon

I hope you enjoyed my Blue Monday
